My Dream Boat (1967)

MY DREAMBOAT about the lives of 3 pairs of graduates and undergraduates who are the best of friends. Unfortunately, love entanglements come into the picture and the beautiful friendship takes a nasty turn.

Ching Li, the most pitiful character in this movie chooses to marry Yang Fan whom she loves dearly but he does not love her. He loves Lily Ho who in turn loves Chin Han. What amazes me is the extent to which Yang Fan can change when Lily Ho rejects him and goes for his good friend Chin Han and the risk that Ching Li is willing to take knowing that she is marrying Yang Fan who does not love her at all..... Maybe it is a case of to love is better than not to have loved at all.

I first watched this movie when I was 10 years old. Today, the story, the songs, the characters are still vividly clear to me. A wonderful story and it has to be from Qiong Yao!

Ching Li played the role of Zheng Hsiang Yi superbly. Yang Fan also played the role of Tu Jiawen very well.

A movie worth watching if you are into soap operas.
